There are three different types of Convergent boundaries: Ocean-Ocean subduction,Ocean-continent subduction, continent -continent collision.
A Ocean-ocean one causes deep sea trenches, volcanic arcs, earthquake activities, located in the islands of Indonesia.
Ocean-continent subduction causes deep sea trench bordering continents, coastal volcanoes and eathquake activities located in the western coast of South America.
Continent-continent collision causes mountain chains and earthquakes located in the Himalayas.

Transform Boundaries

As we got to the San Andreas Fault line is california we can see a transform boundary. A transform boundary is when the plates are slidding past each other this causings high earth quake activity.

Divergent Boundaries.

So what is a divergent boundary? A divergent boundary is formed when two plates pull apart from each other. Visiting the Mid-Atlantic Ridge is a perfect place to find this type of boundary. These divergent boundaries form new ocean crust and volcanoes and earthquakes.

Welcome

Hello all,

Welcome to my plate techtonics blog. In this blog we will visit the three techtonic plate boundaries and their processes and their results. Join me on the journey of plate techtonics.
